The Commonwealth Barber Shop

The owners of The Commonwealth Barber Shop had a vision for a new kind of barber shop in our small (but growing!) town of Winchester, VA. One that has the same “When You’re Here, You’re Family™” vibe of the shop you’ve gotten your hair cut at since 1992, and would grow into being more than a place you get your regular trim.

Founded by artists, musicians, motorcycle enthusiasts, and of course, barbers, The Commonwealth has a unique personality that we wanted to reinforce in their branding elements. They already had a logotype in progress when we were brought in, which we helped finalize with updated type choices. We designed a fairly minimal brand identity which we applied to a custom website and business cards. The simplicity of the brand identity lets the shirts and other merch we’ve designed really shine.
