What we do
We're Big Fog, a creative duo making bold brands and delightful design.
After collaborating on a few branding projects, we brought our creative practices under one roof in early 2021. Since then, we’ve worked with local and regional brands to create memorable identities that stand out from the crowd.
We both got our start in Richmond, Virginia but now call the cozy little town of Bloomery, West Virginia home. Our interests and skills are diverse, but our main goal is simple: create meaningful work with care and intention.

Partner, Illustration & Graphic design
Valerie Burgess
Valerie is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Bloomery, West Virginia. She is a quick-learning perfectionist working across a variety of media, bringing texture, depth, and color to Big Fog’s branding and design work. Equally adept at rich, detailed digital illustrations and clean, precise graphic design, Valerie’s attention to detail brings a sense of refinement to everything she makes.
Partner, Graphic/Type Design & Web Development
Brian Dove
Brian is a multidisciplinary designer based in Bloomery, West Virginia. His work follows his natural curiosity and spans graphic design, typeface design, and web development. Brian has worked on internal marketing teams and client-facing projects, both in-house and on a contract basis, since his design career began in 2015. He loves to learn how things work and is constantly picking up a new tool, software, or hobby.
